2nd Yes diaqueen is the only thing i would put in my Xfer case some people say redline is fine BUT, i just dont see using anything but OEM oil. Order it from a dealership and pick it up if you can if not its gonna be alot for "chemical shipping"

There are seals between the t-case and trans. They do Not share fluid. (Prepare yourself ) It'll blow over quickly enough

T-case is the straight SAE 90 weight Diaqueen

TRans is either 75-90 or 75-85 (I think the former)

One is designed specifically for Hypoid- (short for hyperboloid) shaped gears.

Use OEM SAE90 weight Diaqueen for Transfercase

For transmission - use 1 bottle of Redline MT90 and 1 bottle of MTL fluid and 1 bottle of BG Synchro shift!

Just curious about your alchemy-approach (Ah, yesss. perhaps a pinch of the eye-of-newt...)

Never seen this one before and I am just wondering about the reasoning. (Def. not trying to hassle you, just wondering what each product brings to the formula and if they have any issues interacting with each other)

A lot of people on here have no idea what they are talking about. Your best bet is to call TRE or Shep and get their advice. Shep recommends redline (or pennzoil synchromesh) for the tranny, TRE recommends using the OEM 6 speed MR fluid for the 5 speed. I recommend BG Synchroshift II, or Pennzoil syncromesh if you are in a pinch.

For the transfer, use what others have said only OEM GL5 90wt LSD Gear Oil (Part # MIT3775610). I fried a TC from putting Redline in back in 2003 after a quick Portland-Seattle run. Dealer warrantied because they put the fluid in. Fried another TC shortly after but thats another story

edit - for Tom the Redline tranny cocktail has been around a while, many have used it with success in their DSMs.

I bought my car used, and I,m pretty sure that it still had the original factory fill in the TC at 12,000 Km. I dumped the factory Diaqueen and switched to Motul ff Competition synthetic 75W-140(I know, I know...my TC will sure self destruct soon). I´ve been running the stuff ever since and I haven´t had any problems to date(40,000+ Km.).

We got this from the infamous Shep Racing as we sent our customers transfercase/transmission rebuilt there

So far we have no problems with this

Very good . Can't question THAT source

I just wonder what the advantage of each may be.

Thanks for the response.

(Sorry to OP, thought it may apply to his question)
