30R / FP Green / Stock IX Turbo Comparison

Lets say I am cruising @ 60 MPH in top gear (2500 RPM in my IX)

I go WOT. What RPM will I hit full boost with:
FP Green OR 30R.

I want to do one of these turbo's but I am concerned about lag.

This is a street only car, NO METH - 93 pump ONLY.

Current mods are full Block-Back Exhaust, am doing LICP, UICP, ETS Intercooler and ETS intake shortly (small battery kit too)

With the stock IX turbo I am pretty much full boost 1.4 BAR @ 3500 RPM.

The Green will spool faster, it's only about 200RPM slower than stock.

On a personal note, I never floor my Evo at 2500RPM, that calls for a downshift of at least one gear.

Yup, downshift and get on it.

And OP- If your in 5th or 6th gear... you should be hitting peak boost earlier than 3500rpm..

What are people getting WHP on the green w/ 93 only no meth.

I am really turned off by lag, I cant decide 30R or green.

Normally on highway 94 I cruise at about 60-65 in top gear, I can pass other cars no problem going WOT without shifting down to 5th (i have an MR)

Any other Lag reducing mods that you would reccomend (no meth) besides the ETS full intake system i described? This should help a few hundred rpms right?

Without shifting you will have lag, and a hell of a lot of compressor surge...don't be lazy, push the clutch, rev match, and downshift.

I think if you are hitting around 1.5 bar at 3500 on stock turbo, probably be 4000 with a Green, then 4500 on GT30, then 5000 with GT35. That is obviously a very rough guide but kinda close.

30 psi on a HTA 35R is around 5200 rpm on a 2 litre.

Then the HTA GT30 I don't think spooled all that much better than the 35.

^^Thats because the .82 exhaust was used which just isn't that great for a 30R. A .63 with the HTA 30R I would almost be certain to make full spool at 4k or sooner. An HTA green would probably be identical to stock almost.

I think its been said but if you dont make full boost till 3500rpm in 6th thats slow. I can hit the gas in 6th and hit 20psi instantly and 25psi by about 2800rpm. That is not good on the car though. If you ever get a chance...log full boost in 6th down low and I almost guarantee you will never do it again. That is unless your tune has acoounted for those situations which 95% aren't.
