18X8.5 +33 with 245/40R18? Fit OK?
I'm looking to get a set of Gram Lights Optimise in 18X8.5 +33mm and run 245/40R18
on them. I have an Evo 8 and the suspension and brakes are stock. I've already searched and plowed through several of the exhaustive threads on wheel fit and tire size - everything I can tell leads me to believe this size will work w/o rubbing and no fender-rollling. Unfortunately, no one is running this exact combination. Closest I could find was Trinydex with Gram Lights 57S in 18x8.5 +30 with 245/40R18. I'm wagering that if his fit, then the 3mm difference is tiny and my combo should also fit.
Anything I'm missing that would make this a bad fit? Would 255/35R18 be better? (Not sure which is worse, the larger OD of the 245/40R18 or the wider 255/35. I know the 255 has about the ideal OD.)
Wheels & tires are a lot of $$$ for me to spend - wanna get it right! Your opinions?

Been doing more research -
Is 17x8.5 +30mm with a 255/40R17 a better way to go?
I'm looking to get more contact patch and avoid rubbing. I got onto the idea of 18's because I found a deal on the rims, and they'd look cool. Not the best setup for the track tho...
Again, the car has stock suspension and brakes.
Buehler? Buehler?

For the lurkers out there:
I went with the 17X8.5 +30mm with 255/40R17 Dunlop Direzza Z1's. Now I have to wait weeks for them. Tires are on back order. When I got 'em, I'll post em up.
