No question, the +35 would be your best option. Run the 255/35 tire. At stockish rear camber the tire will be close to the rear fender lip

I recommend having the rears rolled just to be safe

Fender Flares for EVO 8/9

I've been talking to Daren at AWB Motorsports about manufacturing fender flares for our EVO's, similar to the Karlton style fender flares that the STI's run. Anyways, he wants to know what the market would be over here in the states. I for 1 would be very interested as I would like to run some meaty 285's or bigger and still maintain a functional stance. I don't have 15 posts here so I can't make my own post unless a moderator would like to help the cause. Thanks

You'll reach a wider audience if you post this up in Show & Shine & lay down an example pic of what they look like

Wheels: evo x gsr wheels 18x8.5 +38
Tires: 245 40 18 but looking into getting 215 35 for better fit
Arches/fenders: front untouched. rears rolled
Rubbing issues: front rubs on the fender liner on full turns, im sure tires will rub on the arches when car is loaded. car has coilovers so I can raise it up a bit

Are you running wheel spacers? (not familiar w/the EVO4 arches)
215 is not recommended on a 8.5" wheel. 225 is min

The 40 series is certainly causing an issue as well

no spacers. evo 4's have narrow body unlike evo5/6.

I don't plan on doing anything crazy, just couple passes at the drag strip.

Yes, for sure the arches are not as deep as the 7/8 or 9. A different wheel would be best IMO

Have you searched the Lancer Register forum. Large base of members w/all forms of EVO. Theres a link in my sig if interested

The rear looks like its a good tight fit, with maybe a slight chance to rub. Try to space the front fenders out like the evodave fender mod for the 8/9, or pull them. And go to a 235/40r18, and I think you'll be set..

I am really confused, as i see some people making it work and some dont.

18x9.5 +22 with a 245/40/18 with coilovers will rub with fenders rolled leaving it stock camber? I can go 245/35 if it will make it work.

Yes it will rub. Why don't you get an offset that fit better and go from there..

+22 only works w/significant rear fender work. The full compliment of roll, pull & bumper bolt relocate. Stock camber OK after that work is done

The guys who note it all works well w/the minimum fender work, likely have the following conditions
Rear ride height too high / Rear camber set way over the recommended / Not telling the truth regarding rub (any form of rub means it doesnt fit)

I guess I will just go for +34 and add a 5mm to 10mm spacer in the front to clear the Brembos
