Such as GTX3071R?

Which one would u go with?

I have a 18k that will be going on soon. If I was to go with a Garrett turbo I'd get either a 3071 or a 3076

Turbo all day. Not even a comparison.

The reason so many stock manifolds crack after turbo replacement, even stock frame appearing turbo replacement, is that people are too lazy and can't be bothered to put all the bolts back to support everything properly.

i would wait and do both together. do the head right the first time and get s2's, and something larger than a 18k.

I don't know about the cosworth because they post real numbers for duration, only advertised. The Kelford A's are small, even compared to S1's.

Now which turbo to go with is another research topic, but 18k and green are on the top of my list for fast spooling turbo that are direct replacement. I still want to use my Akravopic downpipe.

Any other turbo that competes with these two please tell me so i can research them further.

MHI 18k all the way. OEM reliability, and same compressor as the green. It uses a larger MHI turbine, and it spools VERY close to stock. Capable of 475-500whp on E85 with cams.

I just bought one.

If I do nothing but swap the turbo, MAP exhaust manifold, and 3-port what do you think I might get on 93 pump gas?

400ish (assuming u have supporting bolt ons). Cams and e85 like the guy above 475-500 easily

Evo X Cams

I think i got this picture from EvoXForums (can't remember). I also was curious about the GSC 1/2 vs Mx1 with the MHI 18K setup.

I remember razorlab mentioning something about a billet housing if you upgrade the cams. (https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...l#post11680448)

That billet housing is if get something like the S2. But all it does is mask the true issue which is that the exhaust MIVEC doesn't get enough oil, and lets the phaser bang around inside itself, which is what breaks the housing when you get big cams/stiff springs/high revs.

Due to the area I live, with road blocks and mobile test vans, I want to stay emissions compliant.

My thought is I would just keep the stock exhaust and do the best I can within that restriction.

Ideas for the best I can do within that big caveat?
