Heavy. At one point, I would have also liked one that didn't get so hot in the summertime...

I got Flossy Shift knob (Red Head Heavy Weight), perfect for all weather, doesn't get hot in summer or cold in winter like stainless steel one.

My cheapo Stainless steel ebay shift knob came in. It uses screw in threaded adapters to account for different thread pitches. I'm not sure how a more expensive one would be much better because it is just a bare SS knob. It looks pretty good.

Heavy for sure. I've had both. I didn't like the feel of the light w. Could really feel that 3rd gear notch.

Heavy will definitely assist in shifting. Check out our High Caliber Series, they have a great weight to them!

Heavy. It really helps you engage each gate. I'm using a 400oz with Maps (Ultimate shifter) package.

I guess heavier is better since you are able to exert more moment through the linkage onto the cynchros in the transmission. I wonder, however, at what point in weight of the shift knob detrimental effects would appear...

Waiting for mine to come in, and I'll let you know. Everyone that I know that switches swears by a weight shift knob. I'm tossing it on the factory shifter, and then the TWM that I ordered.

I just picked up a dc sports knob (400g). Haven't tried it out yet, but thinking about replacing my current blackline knob (201g). Anyone else try a 400g knob yet? Thoughts?

I would like to try a heavier shift knob, but don't want to pay very much. Anything out there good under $50 shipped?

I like the Blox Racing knob I got a few years back. It massively reduced my miss-shifts while on track. It was just about $50 when I got it, looks like it's even cheaper now.

Note that it does not screw down as far as OEM, but more than solid. I used some rubber grommets to fill the gap. Track car, no care.

I paid $35 shipped for the dc sports knob I mentioned above. Should be available in 2 styles iirc. Anyway, something affordable if you want to try it out.
