Heavy. Makes shifts smoother. Lighter ones make it more of an effort.

I've had both and I prefer heavy. My current knob is countersunk and it feels like a short shifter

I like the weighted shift knob, makes it feel smoother.

Heavy is better for me, since changed to half a kilo knob.

I just bought a 15.3 oz eBay Stainless steel knob for $36. I went the light route with my Miata and I thought it was terrible. With my Evo X being significantly notchier I think I need the extra weight.

Some ebay dude also sells a 2" tungsten shift knob that weighs 2.3 lbs...For $350.

Those TWM shift knobs are wicked, especially that Type R one!
Wife would kill me, though.

I just recently got into the evo family, Had a 350z with a Tomy Kaira Hebi Bebi shift knob and was quite happy when it fit nicely on the Evo.

Gotta go with heavy. I had a Greddy knob on my 8 and I have a Torque Solutions knob on my 10 now. You can definitely feel the difference.
