Frankenstein 4g94-3's?
I drive a built/turbo'd mirage and have been considering throwing a 4g94 in there, i was wondering if any of you guys have tried to combine the g94 bottom end with the g93 head? and if its even worth it? is there any difference between the two blocks besides the bore? also looking at some of these threads, it seems as if a lot of you like to use the g93 parts over the g94 parts? is the 1.8 that much better than the 2.0?

dont waste ur time and money just put a 2.4l 4g64 of a 3g eclipse u get so much power na or if u go turbo instead of a weak with a 4g94or 4g93. i just finish my car and it pulls hard i beat a crx with b16a by a bus going to take it to the track soon to see how fast it is!

The 4g93 head wont bolt up to a 4g64 (2.4l) block. They're definatly incompatable.
The 4g93 head will bolt up to a 4g94 (2.0l) block. Not worth the trouble unless you use a '97 model 4g93 head with an adjustable valvetrain. Even then the only real benifit is being able to use a smaller baseline (or reground) camshaft with out having to mess with shims. Basically the head is the same between the G93 and the G94 from 1998 and up.
The 4g64 would have to have the ecu to match (the best being from a '00 eclipse spyder i believe) probibly the wiring harness atleast modified and the transmission or the bell housing would have to be changed since the G64 wont bolt up to the mirage tranny.

the bell housing has to be changed in order for the tranny to bolt up, a guy on my forum did that swap already. i have a 97 LS sedan with a fully built head and bottom end, but the 2.4 seems like you can get more power out of it with simpler mods.

There is a thread back on the Mirage board from black97 about the hybridizing. In theory, it wont work based on the different strokes in the two motors. If you want me to go into detail, just let me know.

all u need is a 4g64 engine ,4g64 tranny, passenger side motor mount of a 4g64,1997 to 99 2.4leclipse ecu or 2000 and up eclipse 2.4l ecu and on the harness the only thing u need to mod is the plug that goes to the tps.oh yeah u need to get the eclipse axles cut and size to mirage specs.
