Question Timing belt?

I was looking at the user's manual and I saw a section about changing the timing belt. I thought our engine uses a timing chain not a belt. Pls explain.

The 4B11 uses a timing chain.

They will stretch some over time and need to be replaced if the length excedes a certain point. There's a sensor and a visual check that can be performed to keep track of this. Overall, the chain looks easier to replace. (Getting to it behind all the covers, etc... will still take some time.)
