Lighting problem

This problem is with the rear lights.

Whenever I turn my running lights on, my Rear Left Light DOES NOT come on. The right one does, and works fine.

But whenever I step on the brakes, it does come on!

SO when I'm driving, the RIGHT side is the only one thats on. But when I break, both come on.

Bulbs are good, fuses are good.

Can you guys think of whats wrong?

The previous owner was a dumbass and messed with the wiring. But we fixed it.

I was just changing the bulb on the license plate, when the REAR LEFT light just went out.

I got another bulb, and it didn't come on. Only to the Brakes.

maybe theres water in the plug that connects the taillight to the uhh car. thats what happened to me. it short circuited. we had to shotgun wire it but eventually they saw why we did it and replaced the taillight alltogether.

There are 2 bulbs in the taillight... 1 for the brakes and 1 for the running lights. It's probably your running light bulb is out.

I have 3. One for Blinker, One for Brake/running light, and one for reverse.

Reverse bulbs are out. Blinkers work fine. The REAR LEFT only comes on when I step on the break

All the cables look good. I'm just thinking why it went out when I was changing the license plate light. The 2 wires touched on the lincese plate light. That could of been the problem, but why does the brake light only come on to the brakes and not running.

I would hate taking it to an electrician. But that is probably the best way to go. I will follow the cables as far as they go and try to find anything wrong. I might change the connector that it has.

The bulb must be dual filament then... replace the bulb because it's possible the filament has gone out only for the running light.

I'll say it again, I've replaced the bulb, checked ALL fuses, and moved around some cables too see if something was loose. Nothing happened.

Here is an update.

I was connecting this light

To these wires(where old light was)

And worked fine. I was connecting them, taping it, and getting ready to mount it, but I saw that the LEFT TAIL light went out. When I got up, the license plate light came off.

Here is what the LEFT TAIL light looks like with my running lights on, and blinker.
***BLINKER IS ON!!****(brake light on right)

Here is the RIGHT TAIL light looks like. Same, running lights are on, and BLINKER IS ON!! (Brake Light on LEFT side. (lol yeah, orange bulb.

See guys. Blinkers work great. But my rear left brake light will NOT come on to running lights. ONLY on BREAK.

Sounds like a fuse is out but since you already checked them I haveno clue what would cause it. Other than faulty wiring.

I'll double check the fuses. But I do think it's the wires. Somewhere in the car. Great

Yup. I kept reading this thread over and over and finally found it the fourth time. I checked it with that little sensor that turns a green lights on. It turned it on, but I took all of them out, one by one, and found out that 2 were blown. And one was in the Yellow thing that makes it impossible to get the 2 fuses out lol.

But yes, it was the fuse, but the other tail light had a little problems. I just re-wrired it and works great. Thanks for the help!!
