Tcase and rear diff this year... so far. The drivetrain is a wear item on these cars. More power and abuse shortens the lifetime. Rebuilds with stronger components help extend, but nothing lasts forever

hope your car is okay after todays event. someone said it was back on the trailer early. mine broke the ujoint last weekend down at ncm on the first run. so I will have no testing with the new rear end before heading to Wilmington.

Tcase again. Put spare in yesterday, but I only got my sunday runs and couldn't pull it together. We made handling changes since last event and it needed some tweaks... sunday was too late to find that out.

How often are you SM drivers replacing/rebuilding transfer cases, on average?

Mine is much different failures being a x I guess. I keep a spare transfer case since I caked my Trans and transfer case a couple years ago at the dowel pin but it is still the original. Instead I have been killing rear diffs. At the last event I broke a u joint

Is the problem launching the car the pro events? Or do they get smoked even with rolling starts at local events?

I'm guessing it's the 1.6 60fts on concrete. We haven't killed one yet but our asphalt gives copious wheel spin off the line. I also launch a bit easier than others only pulling 1.7 60s with a little rollout before dumping the clutch.

The hardcore guys seem to be on 1-2yr R&R cycle but then sometimes things break earlier.

Launches and any time the car "hops" under load are prime drivetrain busters. We usually keep the hopping in check or lift it happens. 315s, concrete, and torque make this a pretty rough service...
