Boost? Or Evo Swap
I was planning on buying an Evo 8 Turbo kit, a friend has a million stock parts and I was pretty much getting everything but gauges for $500. That's a GREAT ****ing deal.
My car has been in the shop with awful idle issues for 2 and a half weeks, and the mechanic was asking if I planned to boost. My car has 160,xxx miles and he suggested that I don't boost with that many miles. Modding an old car brings many problems, if I boost then things start to break and then I throw thousands of dollars fixing a max HP of 250 and FWD car... He has a good point, my car is old, but it's MY car. I want to fix it and have it for a long time. Boosting it is something I always wanted to do. He said throw in an Evo 4-6 engine, go on ebay and find one for $1.5k-$2k and he will throw that in, fix the AWD issue etc.
So being I never looked into it, I've tried to but couldn't find any threads, what does it all take to put an Evo 4-5 long block into my 2003 OZ Rally. Other than the whole 7 bolt engine. What other things would I need to take care of if I did this? He said we might have to change cross-members or something? I don't know... I'm here asking because it's something I am really considering now... Who the **** drops a whole Evo motor into a normal lancer just cause? I'm sure people have but hell not enough if I searched for an hour and only found people asking the same question and getting dick answer like "You dont, you buy an evo" or "Go search". Well, I searched and I'm not buying an Evo.

I haven't seen many people drop a evo motor in there little lancer but why not haha . But I have heard of and was considering doing a 4g64 engine swap there's also a write up on here .
But if you are going with an evo motor I would say upgrade your rods and pistons so you can run more boost / psi

This is what I mean by dropping in the Evo 4/5/6 engine

Ordering my bumpers finally guys. Selling my old lip kit if anyone wants it, front is cracked but the other 3 are good condition with the daily driven rocks flying up damage. Pm me if you want. Can Antone guess what kit I'm doing? Its mix and match.
Can't believe my car will actually be fixed soon everyone. Minus the fender and quarter panel, but hopefully it can be popped out for the time being at least, but the bumpers were ordered in about a week or two they should be in and by then my throttle/idle will be done and my car can come back to me good as new.

Hey guys, so i think im gonna give this whole swap thing some process. Its gonna happen everybody. First I need to learn what to build once i get it. Anyone have any info on the 4G64? or any knowledge of building up the engine and tranny?
I read on IGotASTI.com this thread, and it shed some light, but i need to know about what people usually build on the 64 itself when they go boost.
I plan to swap in a 4g64 block into my oz rally. I want to maybe ask you a big favor, can you list what parts i should swap out while the block is out?
I got this list off of igotasti.com and im wondering if this is a complete list of internal parts i should upgrade to have a "Fully Built Engine".
Typically, a fully built motor consists of two separate things: a built "short block", which consists of your pistons, connecting rods, bearings, crankshaft, and possibly ductile sleeves depending on power level goals. When someone offers a fully built motor for sale or offering to build a "fully built motor", it also consists of building the cylinder heads of the motor, which is essentially the "top half" of a motor. The cylinder heads include your valves, camshafts, valve guides, rocker arms, etc.

Have you considered a 4G69 swap? Looks very straight forward and all the info you need is here

I have considered the 69 swap as well, but if im going to swap... i may as well go all in and do the 64/63 swap that evo guys do. I have read doncarbone's thread and also ruff's 64 swap thread. so its not something im going blind into, so for now since my car is broken down, i will be saving up for parts. but i plan to get it done this summer after school is finished. im using my uncles 2014 Hyundai Accent, and i love the car but its no lancer, and not a stick so im not enjoying driving it whatsoever.
