04 bumper removal

Hey, how do you take the front bumper off the 04 lancer body? Is it the same as the 03? I got the 4 clips from unders the hood, the 3 in each wheel well, and the 2 from under the car but it seems like there's more behind where the liscence plate is but i can't figure it out. thanks.

There are two screws behind the grill inserts. Take them out, two pushpins on top of each and then carefully push the clips holding them in out because I broke one trying to hurry, and behind that on the front of the frame there are two screws. Phillips head tops or a 10 mm ratchet will work. Suggest the ratchet or box end wrench as they are in there tight and the screwdriver might strip them. Then the sides kind of push down and you can pull it right off.

No don't pull on the bumper, the 04's have screws behind the grill inserts. Pulling on it will tear up the front bumper retainer. The picture isn't that great and you can't even see the screws but I replaced my gill inserts with mesh so it isn't hard to get to them if I need to. This is the right insert and it is just to the right of the opening on the frame. You'll see what I'm talking about when you get in there.

There are three screws in each wheel well: one metal 10mm and two phillips plastic screws; four plastic push pins on the top of the bumper under the hood; the two screws behind the grill inserts: 10mm or PH; two big plastic push pins under the bumper; then kind of work the sides that are in the wheel wells down and pull the plastic parts of the dust cover out of the bumper; there are two slots inside the bumper which you can't see that have a clip from the bumper retainer to fit snug inside of them, on these you just pull straight out with the whole bumper. I don't think I could explain it any better. It's really easy.

there are 2 slide-in clips on each side that hold the bumper on, they just slide off when u pull the bumper from the front slightly harder.
