Can you bend up a small bracket for each side that screws down where the factory radio bracket went? Shouldn't take much to hold it in place, maybe stop by a car audio installer and pick up a 6" piece of metal strap like this:

Then cut it in half, bend a tab at one end to screw it down to the dash, and attach the other end to the gauge plate somehow. Make sure you get the brackets the right length to make the plate flush with the surrounding trim.

I don't know what to tell you about the relocation kit problem.

ok well I talked to the guy and I figured out what to do with the brakets there just to long so I will probly use a dremel or something to cut them smaller

also with the relocation Im probly going to call the closest mitsu (30 min away) and see if they have any screws for the kit and there the same screws that you use for the radio brackets right? well beucase the whole looks smaller and I wasnt sure if they had like "special" screws that were ment for it so

and if all else fails just use a big block of styrofoam as like a frame to hold things in place so things dont move -lol- my friend held gauges in his truck that way and it worked just fine!

They look like the smaller holes are just the way they are made, and the larger ones are what they look like after having a screw run through them. Is the material in there plastic or metal?

Take one of the original screws and try to screw it into one of those holes. Since the screws are self-tapping, I'm betting they go in. Worst case scenario, you may have to go to a hardware store and get some slightly smaller screws or drill the holes just a tiny bit bigger.

That's what I'd do, but ultimately it's your call. If you don't feel comfortable with it, ask your dealer.
