well here its like any car made after 1990 i think has to have a 3rd brakelight kind of defeating the purpose

i mean our cars have 4 taillights, how can you mistake them braking?

lol no kidding. in wa we dont have that law, 3 brake lights... sounds pretty stupid to me too. should be a law for the difference in lighting when braking or something to that effect.

It's a Federal law, not state.

i followed a car teh other day and the only rear light on his car was the highmount/third brake light. haha. stupid guy. I caught him at a stop light and yelled to him that they were out. he went "Yeah, been like that for a while". Guess he was just waiting for someone to plow into the back of him and put his POS out of its misery.

I was more concerned with the 5 giant holes in my trunk than a 3rd brake light...it looks clean without the spoiler BUT those holes are eye sores.

i just went to the junkyard and picked up my third light from some audi, sprayed painted it black, works like a charm. might look a little ghetto from the inside, but keeps me from getting a ticket just fine!

Yep, any car manufactured after 1985 must have a third brake light (1986+)
