Okay guys, Ive Read for the last 2 hours on this site about timing belts, alot of people said they have done it them selfs..

I'm at 59k and need to get my timing belt changed.

Anyone has a write up, Pic or info so that we can start doing the timing belt our selfs?

I did it myself but I didn't take pics. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be, just tedious and you MUST pay attention to the details. It helps to have two people, one person working on top while the other person works in the fender well. The service manual has all the write-up needed to do the change. I'm sure I've posted that info in the past. If not, I'll dig it up.

 

I thought it was around 100k that the timing belt was supposed to be changed?

 

60,000. 100k is only for a few states iirc

 

Even in the state (CA) where it's 100k, I would still do it at 60, since it's probably the same belt, just different numbers in the owner's manual.

 

I think it had more to do with the warranty than the difference in parts, iirc what I read. If you remember I was the one with the "free timing belt" from the dealership that I had to fight them over. I did so much reading about that, but it was awhile back now.
