Endlink Removal

Went to replace the stock bushings with Energy Suspension ones and am having a ***** of a time getting the endlink off. Top nut came off no problem but the link does not slide through the hole as the center piece of the link is too thick. Anyone that replaced these bushings got any advice?

you have to slide the long bolt out...which 98% of the time is frozen to the center spacer...so start cutting.

any auto parts store...but I don't think they sell just the bolt and spacer. it comes as a complete link setup, 1 long bolt, one spacer, 4 washers, 2 bushings, and the nut.

What he said. That goes double if you live where they use salt on the roads in winter. I swapped my bushings after only one winter here, and the endlink bolts were already rusty. Another year and I would have been cutting them out.

Thanks for the help guys, Bumping this to say I got this done. Everything was rusted as ****. I found the easiest way to do this was cut the second rubber bushing from the top out. Take a grinder and cut the bolt, everything will now slide out. Once the cut bolt is out you can hammer/pry the spacer off and reuse it.

Although if you have a torch you could very well have just heated everything up and the spacer will most likely come lose.

They're the bushings for the front sway bar. Tightens up the front end a bit.

These are the part numbers for the ones I used;

1" swaybar (9.5110)
11/16" endlink ( 9.8105)

Keep in mind that if you need to cut your stock endlink bolt then you will need to replace it. I just went to a fastner store and got a grade 8 bolt long enough.

EDIT: If you search in the Lancer section you may find a part number for the Energy Suspension endlink set that includes the bolt.
