I am thinking about painting my engine and planned on using this paint:

Any suggestions on whether to use Engine Enamel or High Heat Paint?

I'm not sure how hot it gets under the hood but the "high heat" is good to a lot higher temp. With the enamel you get a lot more variety of colors. I'd probably go with the enamel, but I'm curious what others have to say on this.

Has anyone yet actually reported their fans melting when they took the heat sheild off, I have the RRM header coming, and I would like to show it off with the shield gone.

You'd have to check with the lancer guys. I know on the RA, the header tubes get pretty close to the fans, and some of the DSMs would melt fans.

Only when running large turbos, so the turbo was up close and personal with the radiator fans. I ran a 16G in mine, no heat shield, and had no problems with my fans melting, even with a thicker radiator in there.

You might find paint that'll withstand the heat, but you won't find chrome paint that looks good and will withstand the heat.

The ralliart does not need an aftermarket header. It cannot be improved much more. It would be a waste of money buying a new one.
