Accolade Eyelids

Hey guys, does anyone know if Accolade will paint the eyelids they sell? I sent e-mail to them but haven't received a reply. Did anyone order them already painted? Thanks!

yea they'll paint them but ive heard bad things about them. People who i've talked to say that they always peel off and theyve lost them on the highway and stuff. it makes me a little uneasy about getting them. i guess just make sure if you do get the accolade eyelids that they are glued down really good.

Thanks for the advice. I think I'll order them and check into some kind of epoxy to make sure they stay on the car. Check ya' later.

Actually I would advise 3M double sided tape covering the full length as opposed to glue.. people who use the tapes have not had any problems..

a good epoxy should work better than paper-based tape. dont use normal glue at all. make sure its a real epoxy. and sand the back a bit first. i wouldnt trust tape. some people on here lost a lid /w tape

the 3m tape isn't paper based, it looks like grey putty, and it sticks really well. i have eyelids and i drive like 75-80mph on the freeway everyday and they haven't budged. rain or shine.

Agreed, the 3M tape is what I used to re-badge my trunk. It works great and you can remove the eyelids without destroying your headlights like you would with epoxy. The 3m tape is just like the tape used to attach your stock badges.

I always thought they screwed in underneath the hood lid. Where can the 3M tape be acquired at? Do the eyelids come with something needed to properly and securely attach them?

3m tape is the best, any and all paint and body shops, in different widths as well, and auto store will sell it as it is used to adhere body mouldings on.... it is the best way to go and removes a hell of a lot easier than epoxy or glue type.
