I have a 04 RA without the S&S package. I saw that the S&S package has maplights where the sunroof controls are. I wanted to know:

1. does the maplights work well?
2. can i retrofit it in even though I don't have a sunroof?(is it part of the roof?)

u guys dont have them? hm, suk. they work very well. i am sure u could fit them if u just run the wiring under the upholstry.

 

they are alright, i put blue led bulbs in mine but i cant see crap. You can see pics of them in my sig on page 1 or 2.

 

All we non-S&S guys got was a crappy dome light in the center of the roof. No map lights, it's very very annoying.

 

i think i am going to pickup the map light see if it fits..

how come you didn't swap your gauges with your radio? they work so much better when they are up high so you can see it

Well, the Ralliarts w/ S&S don't have lighting on the rear which sucks. I want to get some light in there especially when I take my kid on the back seat. It would be nice to get reading lights on both sides.

 

Yea that's what i love and hate about the S/S package.. I can make the lights in the car stay off when the doors are open but when i want them to turn on.. they only like up the map lights and the whole car is dark. I think i might toss some neons in the back seat under the front seats to light up the back... I have Red neons under the front seats now and the center map light with a red LED (which doesn't do jack) and the stock whites on the left and right. I we're even..

 

so people with S&S don't get the dome light, and we don't get the map light.. what kind of ****ty thinking is that.. my old Accord had both with and without the sunroof

Hey Joe, Let me know how it works....I think the S&S guys also get a flip down sunglasses holder too....if I saw taht correctly in the pic. **Daddymac using his girls comp**

 

I don't have a sunglasses holder in my '04 with S&S. The '05's might have'em, though I've read that they're identical, and I bet people would've noticed that.

We do have a dome light per se, it's just right between the map lights instead of in the middle of the "dome" (roof). It works alright if you just want to see up front, but of course if you're rummaging around the back it isn't a whole lot of help.
