How Far do you push S+S?
I think the consensus is that it's the bracket with the windows buttons on it. I was just wondering if anyone has looked into it, sorry I know it's off topic.
Man, I dunno how some of you guys can run such high levels on the S&S!!
Cds:
Vol: 21
Bass: +3
Treble: +4
This (to my trained ears, anyways) is a nice tradeoff between SPL and overall clarity/quality. Any more bass, and it tends to muddy up. Any more treble, and it tends to get a little spitty for my tastes. I can push it to 22-23, depending on the cd. But I don't usually go any higher than that.
Yes, the rattles, at least in my car, come from the little covers over the window switches on both front doors. Putting come pressure on them while they are rattling stops the rattling. They just need something under them to prevent the rattling (cardboard maybe?)
My levels
Easy/mellow listening...12-18
Good song/lots of bass/depending on mood...22-35
Bass is always at +6, treble is always at -6.
I DO have S+S by the way. One other thing, my kind of music is mostly 80s and love songs. Yep, that's what I listen to. So they generally aren't turned up that loud.
I do occasionaly turn the radio off and the blower fan down to listen to the engine's music. This is especially when I am driving hard (me in a bad mood=driving hard).
Almost got a ticket going 130KPH in an 80KPH zone. SLAMMED on the brakes and a van in the other lane was blocking the radar from me, I got damn lucky.
Oops, off topic lol.

Seriously, I don't usually run it that loud. I used to listen to stuff for a living (Submarine Sonar Tech), and I'm pretty careful to avoid hearing damage.
Hey, we just want to make sure that everyone withing a 100ft. radius can hear our music.
Thanks for the input, I think I'm going to take off the covers and see if I can get them to sit better. I had to do that in my Camaro with the speaker covers.

"normal" listening - volume @ 12-18
"jammin'" - volume between 25-30. Bass anywhere between +1 and +4 (remember class, distortion blows speakers), and treble @ +5 or 6.
Have that same annoying rattle. Will probably fix it when I paint/dye some of the interior parts.
