Evo 8 wing installed!!! [picz]
OK I went down to the dealer to pick up an Evo shifter boot, and walked out with an Evo 8 wing!!! LOL. Talk about an impulse buy!
I started talking to the parts guy and wanted to know what the price was on an Evo 8 wing... he said $1400 unpainted!!! Then suggested the same OEM wing in plastic resign that comes painted and bolts to the factory holes!!! Better yet, it was $460.
I didn't even know that existed. He said if I bought that and a 3rd Evo brake light, he'd give me a 15% discount! So, the wing came to $390 (painted!!!) and the 3rd brake light was $58.
Super easy to install... came with 4 screws, a template (don't need it since we are pre-drilled), and a "sticky" gasket. Just unscrew the old spoiler (sucker is on tight, I had to use an impact driver!), disonnect the light, and pull it off. Put the new wing on with the gasket already stuck to wing, and line up with holes. You need to screw it in with an allen wrench to 25lbs. Have somebody help you hold it on until you get all the screws started to make your install that much easier.

Um, what was that about 1400? Why are all these dealers telling people it's around 1k? A friend here bought an unpainted OEM Evo wing for his '03 OZ for ~450, and then painted it that navy blue color on the sides....then again, my "friend" coulda been full of serious crap.
