hey all. i'm gettin my evo 8 wing painted tomorrow. and i'm also waitin for my kenwood in-dash dvd touchscreen head unit, should be here tomorrow. i'll post pics when done.

alright, i just finished installing the head unit. i'll try to get some pics tomorrow. still waitin for wing to be painted....hopefully by this weekend.

 

nice man, same here. i ordered my evo 8 wing and i am having it put on this coming tuesday the 29th (3/29/05). the spoiler is sitting in my garage right now beacuse the guy who's putting it on for me, can't put it on for me until this tuesday because he's kinda busy at the moment. i can't wait to get my spoiler on because i know how much different my car is going to look when the spoiler is put on. i'll post up pics of my spoiler when it get it put on if anyone cares to see pics. i am now awaiting for my cold air intake, and my greddy exhaust.

ok, small problem witht the head unit. it's all hooked up and everything works cept when i take the key out of the ignition i lose all of my radio presets. i know it's one of the yellow wires (there's 2, one coming off the brain box and one from the back of the head unit itself). the one from the brain box is running to the cigarette lighter fuse in the fuse box. and the other yellow is connected to the yellow wire on the harness for behind the HU. HELP!!

 

correct me if im wrong but i belive the cigaret lighter will not work unless you have the key in the accesory postion ect. move that wire to a constant power sorce and you should be good. i could be wrong though but my cell phone wont charge till i start my car so i pretty sure im wright.

 

What he said. Our cigarette lighters do not have a constant power source. You need to run your mem wire to somewhere else that always has power. There should be a wire for this in the stock harness, I don't know for sure, but mem wires are usually red.

 

i have the red wire from the back of the hu connected to the red on the harness adapter. the yellow from the brain box is extra long to run to the fuse box (which is the one i have connected to the cig. lighter fuse). so i'll try to change that. what other fuses can i run to? thanks.

 

How much was the head unit? I wanna get a touch screen unit but they are all overpriced wherever i go.

well, i got mine from best buy cuz i wanted the 4 year service plan in case anything breaks and i bought the reward zone thing so i get some gift certificates back too. but i paid about 1400 total. i found the exact same one online for $999 tho.
