Need info on 04 RA front bumper replacement...

ok, so this is my first post on evom as NorCal Lancer, but I've been browsing this forum for a really long time. Now to make things short, I got into a car accident about 1 month ago, the story is here sclc I'm tired of explaining it, so my storiys on sclc.net. Anyways, finally after a month, my car was put in the shop yesterday and it will be there for about 2 weeks. Now, we had a dilemma yesterday on which front bumper to get, becayse the 04 one happens to be $450 plus an additional $450 for the lip and plus the paint. That is ridiculously expensive. I was telling him about aftermarket front bumpers but we still aren't sure of which one to get. Does anyone have any advice for me? I persoan;;y doon't mind getting the 04 one again, but it's just so expensive. I hear bad things about accolade, so I don't know about them. As for RRM, I don't know if they have only the evo9 front bumper sold seperately. As for the 06 front bumper, I'm not sure if sacrificing the ugly bottm part is worth it for the new mesh grill. And please tell me, for the other front bumpers, is ridding the foglights a must???

I didnt like the 06 too much. But RRM's IX/Gialla kit (no offense RRM) didn't turn out to well (EX. uneven holes, crooked stuff). But Accolade is pretty trustworthy as well. I've seen their stuff and would buy their kits anytime.

I'd get in on that, only like way cheaper than the front bumper replacement. and you can add a hood or fenders if you want. And their fitment is close to 100% exact, but sometimes something is a lil off. but good deal none the less.

This is pretty good too, but I don't know anyone with experiences with this company.
other than that, if you just want the front bumper, check out www.body-kit.com

Sounds like you need it soon. Accolade sometimes takes a LONG time to ship body parts out to people. RRM doesn't have a toned down kit. Best bet might be to find someone with an 04-05 lancer who has put on a kit, and see if they'll sell you the front bumper. At worst, you'd just have to buy a lip.

oh yeah, accolade says about 4 weeks shipping. but just go to a thread for someone showing off their new 04/05 kit and ask them if they still have their bumper.

I wouldn't. I've seen too many threads complaining about Accolade's fit and finish, and their service whenever there was a problem.

yeah i have heard problems with their service, but I've never had problems on email return time. Ive contacted them quite a few times. And I've also seen a lot of threads saying the fit was almost perfect. so I guess its hit and miss. you just have to hope you get your order on one of their good days

I really don't know what to do...The guy at the shop said he will try to see if Mitsu has any used front bumpers, so I'm looking at that. For some reason, I just want to stick to the 04 front rather than getting an aftermarket one, I dunno why. Well no one has told me about the foglights either, will they have to be removed if I do end up with getting a aftermarket front bumper? Because from all of the ones I've seen, it looks like they do. And btw, does any other bodu kit compant besides accolade sell the evo8 front for the RA? Becuz that looks *****in.

with the new 04 bumper you just take the ones off your old bumper (if theyre not ruined) and put them in your new bumper. or just get a RA bumper with the fog lights in em already.

if you buy a kit from accolade your going to need to remove your front rebar and will they even part out a kit ?? also the evo 8 conversion kit you will not be able to use your stock fog lights they will not fit .the price i got from my dealership for a new rear was $1200can unpainted the front was even more try this site http://car-part.com/ and search the us and canada for your bumper this would be the cheapest way or if you some extra money buy a hole kit part out the rest younever know you could make enough to pay for the paint good luck

i'd say get a lancer front bumper and get the pre-painted aero kits on ebay, which i think looks better than stock lip

do you have one of their other kits on your car? if not how do you know for sure you don't have to remove the rebar when installing their kits. i heard that all their kits need the rebars removed .
