Emblem

Did a search and didn't find anything that really answered my question so here it is.

How do you take of the front emblem...i want to paint it black but don't really want to break it trying to pull it off or should i just tape around it and paint it?

easiest way for the front is to tape around it and paint it.

The curve of the piece makes it tough to remove with fish line.
An exacto knife, masking tape and some newspaper to cover for overspray.

A black vinyl overlay is also an option.

if you still want to take it off i imagine you can look behind the front bumper and see if anything pokes through.
If you don't see anything then it's just glued on.
Personally think the black vinyl overlay looks just as good
going to do that myself sometime soon

I have some black overlays on order I'm taking that route. I'm still not sure if I want them on, I'm gonna put em on for a week and see how I like it. I don't think the chrome looks all that bad, but its worth a shot

Do you need to sand the emblem before painting them?

depends on the paint you are going to use.

I used metalcast red which recommends applying over chrome.
