No definitely wouldn't want to hit a kangaroo or an emu in an RA (hit an emu and there is feathers and green 5h!t everywhere for months).
I do that enough at work in the Land Cruiser - but then that has a big steel roo-bar (what do they call them in the USA? Bull bar?) on it. I know cars smaller than the RA are better off without the bar as it will increase damage to the chassis from the force of the hit instead of just doing the hood/panels.
Yeah Aussie laws on foglights are annoying - basically you can only only use them in the rare occurence of fog, or if its raining a lot - and even then only at night I think, because they can "dazzle" on coming traffic... highbeams will be next lol

Can't drive with neons on here, either, since they're not DOT approved.

Bull-bar would be our closest equivalent, but here you'd only find them on trucks. I remember the first time I went to Australia, leaving the airport it seemed every vehicle I saw, big or small, had a gigantic roo-bar on the front of it. That was long enough ago that even the smaller cars would have held up to some impact, though.

We call them bull bars, brush guards, cattle catchers. But they are mostly on trucks.....and police cars. The police use them to spin out someone they may be chasing.

Back on topic....why not take that piece out and try installing a tight black mesh? I used gutter guard mesh for the center pieces....but have not ventured to the lower part of the front end yet.
