Evo 9 Body Kit Development
As many have shown interest of the Evo 9 Kit ( Accolade will be first to have a Evo 9 kit for the 2004 -2006 Lancer ( Others claim but they do not even come close to the look of Evo ) here we are. Project will be completed within one week and we will go on production.
These are JUST CONCEPTS ( MIND YOU JUST CONCEPTS )
The Top Grill part will be off and it will be orginal Evo 9 kit, but this will a JDM Spec Bumper.

If its JDM spec I'll be interested as I dont want to lose my shorter front bumper. However if you make a front bumper that is as good a replica as your evo IX rear licence relocateted bumper then I will highly consider it!

Because as the UK lancer brochure says:
"Whether you aspire for performance, the lancer saloon shares the exact chassis of the legendary Lancer Evolution and thus is one of the best platforms for perfomance tuners."
Basically - if you really wanted to, you could take a base lancer and turn it into a full Evo. Ralliart at Derby, UK can do this - a full AWD AYC/ACD Turbo conversion on a UK 4G63 Sport Lancer, with all the body changed... however there is little point. I looked into this, but felt that I didnt want my car to look exactly like an evo, just a bit like one.
You have to remember in the UK, the home of Ralliart, we have many different Evo's, some which people dont call 'true evos' because the power has been turned down closer to 250bhp.
In the UK lancer owners are rare... Evo 260 owners are common and are looked on in ther UK the same way lancer ralliart owners are looked upon in the USA, they are the ones who take all the s**t from "real" evo owners trying to make their cars look like the 300, 320, 340 and 400.
At the end of the day, we all share the same chassis (I'm basing that on the UK lancer brochures which says that the chassis even include the extra weld points for "stability"), and in the UK there is much respect for building your own performance car than buying one ready-made from the factory. Something ralliart and colt car company are pushing I notice in their new lancer material.
Ralliart of the UK, dont settle for the standard 278bhp Evos - they build em up in the UK to insane machines... and they do that for Lancer's too - hence the 1.8 turbo and 2.4.
The lancer already looks like an evo that forgot to take its steroids, so why not give it a helping hand!?
I have to say that all the lancers I've seen that try to be different look gash - the evo 8 spoiler for example is perfectly designed for the shape of the car - so why be different and get a spoiler that doesnt look as clean on it?
And the body panels - the evo ones just look right - the rest dont...
Thats my opinion anyway!
I dont know if its the same in the USA but in the UK we have an anti evo 7-8-9 thing going on...
Basically people dont like the computer aided driving, and take it as a insult to their driving ability... hence the Evo 6 is really common over here (because its a real mans car!) and the 7, 8 and 9 are rare.
I suspect that some drivers would prefer to have a turbo lancer with no driving aids... simply because they'd feel more on the edge.
I myself am at the point where I could buy an Evo 9... but I'm holding off for now, because I'm having too much fun with my lancer.
I suspect that by the time I'm bored with my lancer I'll be too mature for an Evo and probably just drive one of our new L200 Animals!

i'm sure people have argued this to death, but yeah they are essentially the same chassis... minus the huge number more welds, and chassis reinforcement.
Honda Integra guys say the same thing with the type-r vs regular integra, except that the regular integra is a roll-cage away from a better chassis than a type-r. How far off is the lancer chassis? I'm not one to say, im brand new to the car.

I personally think that kit is butt ugly, but I am sure peeps will think my ride is ugly too.
I understand that its not orginal to go for the evo 8 or 9 look on a lancer, but the fact is, it looks clean for those who want something more than the standard lancer styling, but not the glaring lines of a body kit.
To be honest, the reason I have the rear IX conversion on my lancer is because no other lancers in the UK will have it - and it is slightly different to the Evo IX anyhow, but it looks clean and could be OEM.
I think lancer and evo owners can be grouped into two really, and its NOT lancer owners vs. Evo owners...
It's performance/styling enthusiasts who have to work within their budget whilst being a fan of Mitsubishi's
These people will buy either a lancer or an evo, depending on their budget, and then tune it (not rice it) to make it better, because of their enthusiasm.
*The Passionate*
vs.
Rich people who just want power without any effort, or want to pretend they are driving an evo without actually knowing how to turn the lancer into a performance car.
*The Lazy*
----------------
As for the Evo IX front for the Lancer - I'll make a decision when I see the final product... if its clean, then I'll get it!
