projector headlights question #5000.

How do I open up the projectors to paint the housing black, and how do I seal them closed again?

Also, I have a white ralliart. What do you think it would look like if I painted the headlight housing the same color as my car (white) instead of black? I think it would look really good and different.

Thanks.

yeah, all u gotta do , and there are threads (countless ones) of how to DIY black out headlights; but i won't flame. just set the oven for 276 degrees i believe is the temp- and put each headlight in one at a time for like 4-6 mins. each (on toip of a cookie sheet), take em' out and peal the silicone apart..i used a screwdriver and flatheads. do the same thing to seal them back up - only i reinforced the silicone with aquarium sealant (walmart).

as for painting - - i used...****, i forgot what grit sandpaper i used, but pretty much a fine grain grit sandpaper from walmart- and lightly sanded down the chrome or whatever - and used flat black primer paint at walmart - and used up the whole can on that, and bought some bbq grill paint to finish off- in your case, u might just want to get a hold of a paint shop who can match the paint code for your paint finish of your car (white), and have them do it, or whatever.

mind you...in order to remove the oem headlights, you gotta remove the bumper. i should be doing this shortly and will have a write up as to the exact locations of the bolts and clips

Thanks alot guys!

Do you guys think painting the projectors white instead of black for a white car will look good, or should I just do them black?

Thanks again.

I have seen white before and it looks pretty good on white cars. black also liooks nice on white cars too. If it were me i would go white cause not eveyone has white. Color matched headlights are cool.
