Dash Light Change

I changed my dash gauge lights from amber orange to blue, I bought the kit from lightrikz, easy install... just dont forget to mark where your niddle sits before you take it off because it sucks trying to redo your speedo...

My question to you all if you have changed your dash lights is how did you make your color brighter... how do you get the yellowish film off the backs or the gauge inserts....?

The Show & Shine section is normally reserved to show off your car with PHOTOS!!! ..... posting in the right section next time might of been better Ive not done what u are asking for, and don't understand exactly what u are referring to without pictures to explain!

First, sorry for the big & blurry pics...

I used the edge of a knife to scrape away at the film, then.....

...used a wire brush bit on a rotary tool to "clean it up." Prolly an easier way to do it than that, but just a word of warning if you use the rotary: don't keep it on one spot for too long, because it'll get hot and maybe melt your gauge face.

thanks for the info... did any of your gauges mess up or show false readings?

Nope; for the speedo and tach, I took straight-on pictures with the two little black pins out as a guide as to where the needles should point (this is obviously with the faces still on the gauge cluster). Drove past one of those speed trap things police will set up where you can see your speed...matched up no problem.

The temp. and gas needles have an extra tab that limit how far up and down they sit. To put those back on, I reinstalled the gauge cluster in the car, minus those two needles and without the clear plastic lens. For the temp: I just had to remember where it usually sits after my car's hot, then slide the needle back on to that spot. For the gas: topped off the tank, slid it on to full.

read this and the discuss here thread posted by lancerevomr. IIRC the information you require will be here.

BTW, this IS in the wrong section, it should have gone the in how-to subforum.
