Stereo system?
Stereo system?
I'm going to put a new stereo system into my RA, nothing too crazy, but better than what I have. I've always bought Sony and I'm looking at them atm, but I was asking if anyone has any bias towards any other brands? So my question is:
What kind of system do you have in your car and how do you like it, and what systems do you NOT like?
I know I am biased towards Sony but I'm also looking at Alpine and Pioneer as well.

saw a pioneer dvd/cd receiver with motorized 7" touchscreen display, that looked sweet, but costs way too much $$$, wouldn't mind having one of those when i get my car

i think your best bet is pioneer because it is user friendly, and the quality is there in every head unit, and it lasts along time. ive had the one i have now (6400) for 2 years and counting now.
SONY quality and performance is horrible on everything except AMPS in my opinion. I have an entire Infinity system with a sony amp and deck. The infinity speakers are amazing! I highly recommend infinity unless you are planning on spending a reasonable amount of money on your system. Good Luck!
I have a Pioneer 7500 MP3 Player deck and I love it. I also have 4 Polk Audio MOMO 6 1/2's for my speakers. And I have 2 5 sided 12's made by Sony. Check out my cars pictures to see the system I have. The only thing Sony makes that is worth looking at are the SUBS I have in my car, and their amps. Their decks are dog ****, and their speakers are dog ****. Subs and AMPS are a different story. And so far the only SUBS they have that are excellent are their 5 sided models that came out last year. They knock very hard for how cheap they are.
If you're more interested in sound quality that how it looks, I'd highly suggest either Alpine or Eclipse. They both have head units in the $250-$300 range that are top notch. Do a couple searches and you'll find a lot of diff opinions on this stuff. Mostly its going to be the features that you want and the budget you have to play with that are going steer you.
Yeah I'm not in it for looks, ****, if i was, I wouldve gotten a damn luxury car, lol. I just need something that sounds great, and works well, and is not going to be ridiculous with the volume. I always choose substance over style
