Got to touch up already!
I think there must be some sort of attraction between new cars and small rocks cause I already have two decient size paint chips to fix
. Anyway, i got the touch up paint from mitsu (cool silver A310) and it came a a marker thing. It really doesn't work very well, but I was able to get the paint on ok. Then the next day I tried to put the clear coast on from the other side of the marker and it took the base right off. How long am I suppose to let the base dry before I put clear coat on? It doesn't look right with out it, and when the two mix it makes the silver really dark, I had to take the touch up off and redo the chips again. Any suggestions on how to touch up chips and not be able to tell (besides respraying the area), and how long am I suppose to wait to clear coat?

welcome to the club. I advise one of two things. If you're that serious about your paint, don't drive it or get it repainted by a good body shop. OR just give up.
The overpriced paint repair that they sell is crap. A color match would kill them, I think, and it's just as prone to flaking and chipping as the cheap stuff they put on in the first place.
Anyone surprised that Chrysler has a 40% share in Mitsu...? Bet it's in the paint dept.
Yes, my car has been repainted (due to car accident) and I'm still bitter about the original paint quality.

Well, I got all the crapy mitsu touch up paint off and went to a local auto paint mixer and had a freh pint made up for me. Price wan't too bad, $45 for a pint, part in a spry can, part in a touch up bottle, the rest in a pint can. Tonight I try to get rid of those chips.
first day i had my RA, i drove to the DMV, and i got hit in the parking lot
... fortunatley there was absolutley no damage, and just a small rubber streak on my back bumper that came off with a little soap and water
... i swear if i had seen who did this to me he would not be a happy camper
at least all looks like new now though

With all the snow and ice we had in the northwest this winter, my hood and bumper looks like a nice mix of salt and pepper. I experienced the new car damage magnet. It seems that every piece of gravel on the road was attracted to my car's front end. All I can do now is wait for a nice c/f hood and get a body kit. Then I need to get a crapper car to get me through the winter months. And then there are the F'n door dings to fix
