Um lemme get this right the car WONT start if the hand brake is UP ???
WTF! If the hand brake is up and the car is in neutral is the ONLY time it should trigger the car to start! You wire it like that and your gonna kill someone or something.
Using your theory that you leave your car in Nuetral and the e brake up, if he wires it the way you said then it wont ever remote start. Please help me understand.
I think TGOZ means when the ebrake is down. For a 5spd car, the car has to be in a reservation mode in order for the remote start to function (at least for my car); that is: neutral && ebrake up && all doors are closed. While in the reservation mode, the car will keep running until you: get the key out -> open one of your door -> close all the doors; then the car will turn off and arm the alarm.
Hope this helps, oh, byw, my system is compustar

my $.02
I am going to talk to someone tonight about all this. I have the Crime Gaurd 850 I4. Same as the viper stuff. I want to use the E-break up as my safety catch.
E-break up remote start allowed. Bypass the Clutch Safty with a manual switch so I can flip the for the Valet / Girlfriend mode. Where you can't remote start without pushing the clutch.
It is the same concept at the kill switch on my turbo timer. I cannot leave the car without the e-break up and in neutral due to the timer.....(fingers crossed). I am not about rigging crap up. So if it can be done right I will do it, if not I will NOT rig this up!!!!
I will get you guys some feedback.

hmmm...I got the compustar alarm and it has special instructions for remote starting for manual transmission. You have to go through certain steps to put the car in "reservation mode" so that the car will remote start. You'll have to have the car in neutral, push on the brakes, release, and then pull up parking break. And then take your key out, then the alarm acts as a turbo timer and lets the car run for like 3 minutes and shuts off. Then you're good to go to remote start it, since it can only be remote started in this mode and the only way to have this mode is if you're in neutral and your parking brakes are up.
I used to live in Pittsburgh. I had one caus it would be -20 degrees outside and I dont have time to sit in my car to wait for it to warm up.
Now I live in south florida. And its 95degrees every day! I like the AC =] But, I just bought a manual RA and am in the same boat. I had a Black Widow FM7150 alarm/starter. Great system, but my dealer promised me they would hold my old car for a week to I could get it out.....but they lied. Damn west palm mitsubishi! I talked to them some more and I might bet compensated, but not sure yet.
Anyway, a friend has a manual Mitsu 3000GT. He wired it to bypass the clutch depression switch and it walks fine. He just cant use it if he has it parked on 1st. Kinda lame if you ask me =[
