is this worth it for an evo 8 spoiler?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33638

just wondering what everyone thought... would it be easier to get it painted and spend a little extra? I saw them on a site for 288 unpainted...

what do you guys think?

If your gonna stick it on a ralliart i wouldn't bother. Its purpose is to keep the car down at high speeds. I don't think the ralliart is fast enough to need its benefits. Save your self the money and save up for the real thing The MR is coming .......

Hey guys i was reading a post on some guy that bought one. He said it vibrates and shakes like crazy. Just a heads up. The factory one doesnt do that because its stronger. At least thats what one of the guys said.

I read about that too... I'm not sure what that comes from, but I suspect a poor install?

the stock spoiler actually doesn't look half bad! I REALLY want the EVO 8 spoiler, but contemplating if I should even go that way with this car, especially if it won't help until I get to about 160km/h.

losdog I think most of us US Lancer owners are aware that a rear wing isn't really helping with rear downforce and helping a front wheel drive vehicle get power to the ground....But it looks sweet !! Who cares if people think your tring to be an evo....Also I saw a post on this forum for a wing direct from the dealer as well as front and rear lips.

I just put that Evo 8 wing on my RA and I will have pics up very soon. That might help you to decide. And dont listen to these people about the function of a spoiler, if an Evo says our RA isnt fast enough to get downforce at high speeds than neither than tehy cuz we can do all of 140 and if that isnt fast enough than they need to look in the mirror.

I have the Carbon Fiber EVO VIII Wing on my Ralliart as well, and it does look SWEET!!

Anybody that is buying a spoiler for downforce is a complete idiot ... how often are you going fast enough to even need downforce .. I mean come on .. these aren't Indy Cars for Christ Sake!! Just my 2 cents ..

I also notice that mine shakes alot at Highway speeds .. especially the cross-bar. Not really a big deal, as I have checked the thing, and it couldn't be on more securely .. so no worries here.

Anyone out there with a EVO VIII that can testify whether or not their's shakes as well??

Nick

Is that so? so it's just the spoiler design then?

I'm going to have to assume so ... but I'm really not sure having never driven an EVO VIII to compare it to though. Like I said ... it's not like you can hear it flopping in the wind .. it's only noticeable when your looking through your rearview mirror at highway speeds.
