I see people do that with their civics too, and it doesnt make any sense whatsoever. Maybe the money doesnt amount up to the cost of a new EVO, but Im sure it will to a used one. I dont know about you guys, but I would rather drive the real thing. It's kinda embarrassing driving a lancer that looks like an EVO and got made fun of by those v8s.
Look, some of us bought our lancer before the evo came out. Now i dont know about you but if i want to trade in my lancer to get an evo I will get rapped at the dealership. Now don't get me wrong. I would love to have an evo but you know what, you bought a fast car. And thats all good. I, on the other hand, bought a slow car. And its still all good. But when a lancer is able to beat an evo(which will happen sooner or later) Your going to be the one that feels bad and we will be the ones laughing at you.

Its funny hearing people bash on conversions. Its not like everyone has 10,000 to put down on an evo. MOst of us live paycheck to paychec and when we have a little extra here and there we buy something for the car we could afford. And for some of us to look like our dream car would be cool as hell. I get my evo in oct. but im loveing every minute of my 300+ miles per tank lancer, that will look like an evo.

Testify my brother!!!

Not to mention the insane insurance for driving a Evo VIII around ... sorry ... but most of us can't afford to insure the damn car much less own one!!

If you feel the need to bash us Ralliart and Lancer owners, then do so where somebody gives a **** .. like the EVO forums where you belong!!

I get annoyed when Evo guys bash Lancer owners and say that we should all buy Evos instead of putting money into a Lancer. I agree, the money is one thing, but also what about us Lancer owners in Canada where Evos are not allowed?? Maybe we like the Evo look and want to stay on the good side of the law. Plus I think many of the Evo body kits are what I would consider 'classy' looking kits (ie. not over the top and obvious that they are body kits, like shogun or Blitz).

3 years? I say we'll be lucky if we see one by then...there's been rumblings (even on this board) that because of the small market here and especially cause of the recent financial problem with Mitsubishi as of late, it's not worth the redesigning the saftey features to meet Canadian standards.

but on the plus side it is only 3-4 more years until the Evo 1's become legal in Canada under the 15 year import rule

Why would you want to buy a used evo? Chances are its been beat on pretty good, plus when it breaks due to the previous beating, the dealership wont cover the repairs....
Turbo Ralliarts are gonna be impressive tho, I'm sure of that.

I don't really see a problem with used cars...I've never owned a brand new one, or one that was still under warrenty. I'd buy a used Skyline when it becomes legal because it's a SKYLINE! and I'd buy a used Evo cause it's an EVO! Those early Evo models aren't too badly priced either...on the Lancer Register forums there are ones for $5-9,000 (plus Japanese used cars are almost ALWAYS in better shape than NA used cars...the Japanese look at a car with 100,000 km on it like us Canadians look at a car with 200,000 km on it).

You should try our kit with the Evo, from the roll or from the stop. Don't make any different for us

just incase ppl are confused, here is the evo 9 SKETCH - remember that this is only a mere guess of what it would look like from some artists view.

The left image is my wantings/edits, and the right image is the original from the mag.
