How to paint calipers?

Do I just jack up the tire and take the rim off, and then cover everything except for the caliper, clean the caliper, and then spray it with caliper paint a few times?

Thanks.

yep, thats all. its pretty easy, just make sure you fill in the holes and stuff with paper so you dont actually get paint on the brake itself.

If you go the spray method, cover EVERYTHING, including your fenders, wheel wells, springs, etc. I believe the way to go is to either brush the paint on using a caliper paint kit (like duplicolor) or take the calipers off the car and paint them. It takes less time to bleed the brakes than it would to cover everything up to avoid overspray.

On the caliper spray can it says, "clean surface with lacquer thinner first."

I got some lacquer thinner and it is just liquid in a can. Do I brush it on with a paint brush to clean it???? Or do I pour it on? I dont get it........

Im not going to take the calipers off and soak them in it..... How should I use the lacquer thinner?

Just use a can of brake cleaner and a toothbrush or rag to scrub it in.

That guy painted parts that he should not have........ Looks alright, but he painted the black rubber part inside the caliper.... Im masking the inside parts off. Im only painting the grey stuff that looks like rock, ( the shell of the caliper I guess its called).
