how can you say nos is a ***** way to make power, now thats a lame comment. If i had the ***** to put nos on my car i would but im to scared. i had it one my civic and blew the intake of my head ,and it was a built motor&head all it takes is one weak link to break. and by all means it wasnt cheap. and i would have gladly raced you without my bottle and smoked you then pulled over and waited for you to show up at the finish line.
dude if i where you i would stop now, and quit saying things are lame. No nobody is bashing you for having an opinon but that is very crappy example you gave about a civic

WTF people?!?!?! If you don't like N2O what are you doing reading this thread in the first place? I just got back from testing a 50 wet on the street (2nd and 3rd so as to not over exceed the posted...) and it rocks! If you want to budget race like my race Tuesday, you cant beat nitrous. As far as it being the "kitty" way of doing it... Go buy a stock Ferrari, otherwise let people modify their cars as THEY see fit. Nitrous isn't new btw, let's see if I remember.... oh yeah! People who DRAG RACE have been using it since the 60's but it fell by the wayside because it was safer/easier to run with a supercharger. So untill they make a 6-71 for my 4g69 I think I'll follow in my predecessors footsteps.

Oh yeah, nitrous does go boom, it's supposed to. I believe chemists call it oxidized combustion....

Hey Lucky, sorry I didn't make it to the pizza place this weekend. Last minute setup of the nitrous and all... I'm going to 1st cap 4x on tuesday to dyno @2pm if you can get away from work. On a side note, I have a complete (less AIT) air cleaner if you need to borrow it for You Lusz inspection. Just give me a bump and let me know when you need it and for how long. I'd upload the pictures of the install but the software's being a PITA.

WEll here's a quick write up, I'll do a better one later since I'm late for work. In a nutshell: 50 wet shot runs VERY rich (10) and the 75 (forgot the jets for the dyno) did NOT blow up the car. It didn't make it as fast as I'd thought either. Best time was a 14.8 with a .021 RT (I guess they automatically subtract the .500 at Gateway). I had the fastest car of my group but then again the AC Cobra fireballed his engine! I also dropped the ball running by buddies truck by not arming the frinking nitrous. That sux worse than you can ever know! I'll try and have another friend scan all the dyno runs and time slips, even my sucky ones! On a side note, drag radials do not run well with 38psi in them (I didn't have time to check the pressure before running but that's a different story...). All this with stock spark plugs.

interesting. what are u using for fuel mgmt? lean that bad boy out and you should be making some better results. combustion doesnt work too well with all the moisture, even if the moisture is fuel!

just to give us a point of comparision, how would you rate your overall dragging racing experience. experienced, first time, blue moon, monthly? did u run b4 the n2o setup?

No fuel management unfortunately since we couldn't get a *cough* harness... I just uploaded the the best timeslip and my 3 latest dyno's. This was my first time out at Gateway and I suck. I was a full second slower than I thought I'd run. Do they train monkey's to drive at Motor Trend?!? Spraying a 50 in 2nd-4th and I beat MT by .001 seconds on drag radial w/ 20psi! I suck but I don't think I'm that bad! I have to admit that I owe you an apology blk, I now understand how hard it is to get these RA's to run in the 15's much less 13's! I'll do a full write up later on the trials and tribulations of this drag. It involves 150 miles of back and forth dribing b4 the dragging even started!!! I'm on a budies comp so I can't do it all right now.

Check your jetting man.. I ran 14.3@99mph on dry 50 shot. That was on stock Potenzas w/ 35psi in all 4. I push the button on the 1st to 2nd shift and hold it until the finish line. Wet 50 should get even better times. Wet 75 shot I'm sure I can run 13.9 at least on street tires. Your elevation may have something to do with it as well, as I am in Texas not too far above sea level. I've made about 15-20 passes on spray and all is well with the motor so far. Stock plugs work well although at 75 shot I would go a step or two colder. Good luck.

Hey you're back! I know I should have been running faster but I think the elevation was a factor. All 3 of us ran a full second slower. All the jets were NX in a piranha nossle and a full tank. Looking at the vids I can tell my launch sucks, wheel hop in 1st and a little of 2nd. I was using your method of 2nd till the end with the exception of momemtarily lifting between gears in case I got locked out of 3rd. I was very surprised to run a best of 14.8 when I expected a 13.8! I have some vacation coming up and I might go back on tuesdays and practice my launch, what else am I going to do with drag radials right? Did you ever get another fuel line to tap into? They only run around $30 from the dealer but you'll need these little round flanged things to take it off. I don't know exactly what they're called but they're normally used on A/C components. It fits between the hard fitting and the fuel line and releases the safety catch. If you want to go wet shot I recommend buying another line, trying to run a t fitting in the engine compartment would be too big of a pain with a plastic lined fuel line. You damned near have to use a vice to get the fitting in there! I'm still trying to figure out how to transfer from dig-8 to computer. Sony's base software sux...

Hey AMG glad to see you made it over to STLSR! You are right you should be running faster than 14.8. I was personally happy to run 17.1 in my stock Lancer, but I know I can run faster than that. I personally am scared just like lucky is about n2o, I'm even scared about the turbo kit that i'm getting, but I already paid for it. That however is another subject.

Lucky and AMG we should meet up some time and get some other people from the STL w/ Lancers/RA/EVO.

They're called a quick disconnect tool. Simple and cheap

I'm up for it, I checked the Pizza place Sunday to show lucky my setup but he closed shop sometime before 7:30pm... Must have been at the Troy car show! I work 2nd shift and don't get off work untill Midnight during the week and weekends are hit or miss right now. I was supposed to make it to the River road meet but family callamity prevented it. Hit me up with a PM and a time and I can usually make it if you give me a few days warning. No good at work, the whole internet is locked down super tight, I can't even find a way out!
