Good idea! Let us know if you two are going ahead with that project! It would be cool if we had a flying RA tuner available!

Thunder-rush, you might have found your true calling my man! Who knows?

Dude that's super sweet but what type of work had to be done to prepare the engine for the colossal power.Did you sleeve it, what kind of rods and pistons and other junk had to be incorporated to allow for so much power.

Actually, I believe the 2.4l in the RA can handle that type of power very well... at least for a while. After all, it's only 250HP and 7psi we're talking about. Personnaly I wouldn't go 9psi on it... but hey, it's not my car either.

But just as a reference, the stock pistons on the RA are ceramic coated (well, strongly rumored to be), the cooling system is upgraded from the 2.0l, the exhaust and intake are quite large for the engine size... all in all, Mitsubishi provided us with the best platform for a tuner car... and they might even have intended to add a turbo kit as a dealer installed upgrade. A mild turbo kit is a small stress to put on that engine for sure...

Honestly I think this engine can handle 15psi with stock internals for short runs in the 1/4 but if you want to run autoX or race for extended periods of time I wouldnt recomend going over 10psi. As for problems with the driveline there is an isue I have with the car since new the clutch doesnt disengage firmly when going out of 1st to 2nd and its like a jerky poping sound when doing this also I need to fill the motor mounts i get wheel hop driving slowly while hammered it doesn't do it bc's of tirespin.

A lot of guys are complainning of either that problem or the gear grinding, both between 1st and 2nd gear. The motor mounts could partly cure the problem though... at least, it's been reported to.
