ok, hopefully last re-edit. I'm sure this may have been brought up before but I read up a little on that thomas knight electrical supercharger, which is basically three big electric motors powering a roots blower putting down 6-10 psi. Here's the article I read on it - anyone know anyone who's done this?

ya that eram doesnt impress me, but the thomas knight esc might be a nice alternative to something like nos. Only reason I think it would work is because its just three big electric motors powering a roots blower. They did dyno it, and they seem to have proven results. It just hasnt seemed to take off.

Okay the first link will keep most people from checking the 2nd and 3rd! The 1st one is a straight up JOKE ala "Tornado power!tm" but the tomas knight systems have come a LONG way since I last looked at them. WOW!!! Who knew you could burn pistons in a Nissan with an electic supercharger! It's actually pretty cool to see his systems working so well and me makes a good point about battery tech being a lot better now. All I can say is WOW! Now there's a new countdown: 4 starters, 3 batteries, 2 chargings systems, 1 really big fricking grin! I wonder if I can get an Ameren UE (local electric comp) sponsorship with it? LOL!!!!

edit: I guess you could swap the 4 and 3 if you went for "just the system specs" that they recommend. I just thought it was funny to have 4 starters on your car. Now you can REALLY tell the Honda guys about how much more torque your starter(s) have than their cars!

For 1600$$~ could be interesting. They are basically adding nearly 100 whp to most of their applications, with no parasitic loss at all. and 2/10 of a second spool time for the full boost. granted, with a turbo the boost climbs as the engine revs higher, requiring more air.

they provide dynos for their applications also, here:

but ya, i reedited the hell outta the post to hopefully get a few more peoples attention and took the eram reference out altogether.

I'm wondering if our alternators would fall into the upgraded category since they put out a rediculous amount of amps for a 2.4L engine? My biggest concern is getting in installed properly if you plan on using the stock alternator to recharge it. I'd gladly give up the underseat amplifier (S&S) to not have to hook up to a battery charger everynight. Maybe the Canadians can charge up on the "pucks" or whatever you use for the block heaters up there? I know it's not a 3 prong outlet but I'm sure "someone" has figured it out by now. It would be interesting to see the dealers face when you pop the hood and see 3 starter motors staring back if nothing else...

actually if you read the site they say it is a stand alone battery so you need to take it out anyways to recharge it...

Let's see this..humm 50-60whp increase for 10-15 seconds at a time and about 80pounds more weight added with extra batteries heavy cables and 2-3starters moving a supercharger= about .3 drop ET +'s 3mph added in the 1/4, driving a fire-collision hazard ill driving car I dont think so. Thumbs up for ingenuity..! Once it get perfected it will work but for now no-thanx..
