Thanks for the info. It is my daily driver but i got smoked by a SATURN. yes folks that's right, a Saturn. Holy Shnikes that guy had a hell of a sleeper. The turbo set up he had was prolly the loudest i have ever heard - no joke. Not changing the thread subject but I need to get some boost on this 4G69. I'm just getting ready to grow a set and buy the RRM kit.

Yeah, tap it. Less chance of leaking over time. Sandwich adapter isn't going to seal as well.

I just asked because I've been using one for quite some time for my gauges. I used ARP sealant that stuff works wonders !

I think I will tap it though since it is vital.

its always better to tap the pan for the oil return, because gravity is really the only thing helping the oil drain from the turbo, it will flow smoothly down the tube back into the oilpan, otherwise if the return line was running upward it wouldnt flow as well and could cause some kind of back pressure that may blow seals

sorry to jack your thread too redlne8, but to answer your question, yes its a complete bolt on. and the map that rrm supplies is sufficent enough to run the ra properly. extra tunning is totaly up to you.

give road race a call if your still a little unsure.

took about 12 hours. just make sure you got all the tools your gonna need. the hardest part was the oil line. not hard just takes time.

Can you run 89 pump gas w/turbo?

Can you run 89 octane with this turbo?

Does anyone have a part no. or source to get the oilpan tap? or ie;diameter, fitting type, etc. I want to install, then cap it off until the day comes since this step seems to suck so bad!!

89 octane=no. bad idea. you could potentially tune for 89, but with the additional fuel you will have to dump you are paying for more of it anyway. It will just about equal out, and you can will put down much more HP tuning to a higher grade fuel.

yea ALOT of 89 octane would give your a weezly 4 or 5 psi safe. anything more than that i wouldnt trust.... hell i wouldnt trust even that.

I went to gas station and i told them 10 super. i always say that. almost OCD ish. 10 super. 10 super. 10 super. i know i said 10 super... the idiot put 10 REGULAR in.... i Took off, went to the end of the parking lot, bogged a little at idle... WTF...... about 1/2 mile down the road i go to a redlight and my car stalls out....

89 octane+turbo=no bueno

hardest part....

1. oil lines... making sure the ****N thing doesnt leak what a pain in the tush if you dont have the original fittings that came with the kit (if you bought the kit used)

2. Tapping the oil pan... AGAIN.... Leaks... jb weld is your friend

everything else is just taking your time and putting the pieces of the puzzle together
