Installing the RRM Turbo - QUESTION!
For those of you that have bought the RRM turbo, did you install this yourself? How hard was the install? I have never done it, can this be something you do on your own? Any help would be greatly appreciated
I've installed one of their kits on a Lancer. It is something you can do on your own, but it helps move things along if you have a friend. My friend and I did it in a day, but expect it to take a weekend to get it done. No special tools needed, other than a typical mechanic's array of handtools, except for a tap for the oil pan and sealant.
By typical mechanic's array I mean a socket set, extensions, box and open-end wrenches (ratcheting box wrenches will make things easier), adjustable "crescent" style wrench, those sorts of things. Also tools to installed the piggyback and 5th injector.

Obviously you will have to remove the front bumper for the FMIC and it's buddies but my other main concern is tuning. Can this be done on your own too? I guess what i'm trying to say is if i buy this thing and bolt it on, will my car start when i turn the key. Will I be able to drive it...ya know?

if your asking if you can drive it without tuning then no, youll run into a lot of problems. definitely get it tuned, im not sure about tuning it yourself i know it can be done but me personally i would have someone else tune it, im scared that i would screw something up.

Expect to take a weekend. The most complex part is the oil pan and tap. It sucks to take the pan off and put it back on. Other than that, instructions are really good. You may need a bolt to close the hole for the additional 02 sensor on the downpipe. Thats the only thing i needed extra. Bolt everything else on and enjoy!
Make sure you use a turbo timer because it runs pretty hot.

I think if you take it easy on the way to the dyno the base tune should be more than safe. 7psi is well within limits, and the tune should be richer than the NA setup you have right now. Stay out of boost, baby it, but you should be able to drive it without any problems.
