picking a turbo help

hey
looking to do a custom turbo setup(about 7-10psi) and just want a lil advice on picking a turbo, coz im a lil confused on the "labels" of them

ill most likely get a gt28 so i can just get the RPW turbular manifold to save getting a custom done: Manafactured to fit with the Garret GT28 series rectangular ball bearing turbo models with internal wastegates.

so i have found a few that seem applicable, but they seem to give differing information, so if some1 could explain to me, ie:

1st GT28, is GT2860R (http://www.alldayperformance.com.au/prod1033.htm), seems to be a good fit, internal wastegate, rated to 320hp, t25/28 flange, which should fit on the rpw mani. - waiting on price quote

2nd GT28, Garrett GT2860RS (aka Disco Potato), (http://www.justparts.net.au/index.ph...od&productId=3) says u can choose Turbine Housing: 0.64a/r or 0.86a/r - which size would be better, dont really want to pay $1700.

3rd GT28, (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....link:middle:au)
has internal wastegate of 12-16psi - way to much for my application, can this be changed easially or should i leave that(or weld it shut and go external? also t25/28 flange so it should fit? only $800

so what are the differences and which would be best to use?

or if not any of those, whould this go well with the RRM mani: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....6146&rd=1&rd=1

sorry if this is too noob, and long but thanks in advance
-Steven

You can control wastegates by installing a manual boost controller.

...but your spring pressure rating is the lowest pressure you will be able to attain.

you should choose a turbo based on flow characteristics and hp goals. most turbocharger name brand websites have flow charts, or you can search on EvoM, it has been posted before.

If the flange is the same it will bolt on, you need to keep space requirements in mind though.

the AR is a ratio of the input and output of the turbocharger, google it and you can read the explanations I read. you won't have much option here, at least to start out with, for our engine. This matters more in extreme HP setups.

not looking for extreme, just about 250hpish, or about 180-200kw

stEVOx a t25/28 turbo is more expensive to find & repair tha a t3 variant. The t25/28 will offer a very broad power band and will probably keep up to 300+'s whp but at a higher boost settings. If I was you I would consider a t3 variant as they are ready available and most will push over 250whp easily. Im running t3/4 with .63 a/r y had a .48 exh and it was a blast no lag. A t3 with .63 would be a blast with response of .48 t3/4 but safer exhaust temps. With .48 my t3/4 exhaust temps where really high.
