clutch/lsd
If you want street drivability, you prob don't want a drag clutch (ie 4-puck, 6-puck). They are HORRIBLE in stop and go, but great for a launch.
The RRM stage1 is a great compromise. Yeah it's about 2-3 times stiffer than stock, and chatters just slightly, but I love it. Trust me, I'm very picky about this kind of stuff. You can live with it daily.
When I had my tranny replaced, Mitsu pulled the rrm clutch and showed it to me. There was easily more than half of it's life left and it had been in for 25K turbo miles!!! Great clutch, never slipped on me.

Let's be honest here too, even though I don't beat my car, I don't baby it either. I didn't boost it for nothing!

TOB's on both my Eclipse and RA had to be replaced. So far no synchro issues (knock on wood), but I rev match like an Indy Car driver.
To the OP: No LSD failures I can recall....just don't get a viscous type as they wear out too fast. Clutch type....you don't want to go there. Gear type would be best, like the one RRM sells.
For clutch...listen to Retro.
Aftermarket clutches does not lengthen the clutch pedal as in physical force an aftermarket clutch depending on what you are using and what type it is will allow several things - it will grab and transfer the power much quicker to the wheels ( less slippage and much quicker for track use ) it can also allow you to slip the clutch for a longer period so that the power does not go down in a mass force causing the wheels to spin ( burnout, this is ideal for drag racing)
If you are going to replace the clutch you should also look at changing over the flywheel to a lighter one... this will make a much better performance upgrade as the flywheels are substantually lighter and stronger
