Potential drawback to lsd: If you can't put it in yourself (It's suppose to be an incredibly difficult install) it costs just as much to install as it does to buy

If you want street drivability, you prob don't want a drag clutch (ie 4-puck, 6-puck). They are HORRIBLE in stop and go, but great for a launch.

The RRM stage1 is a great compromise. Yeah it's about 2-3 times stiffer than stock, and chatters just slightly, but I love it. Trust me, I'm very picky about this kind of stuff. You can live with it daily.

When I had my tranny replaced, Mitsu pulled the rrm clutch and showed it to me. There was easily more than half of it's life left and it had been in for 25K turbo miles!!! Great clutch, never slipped on me.

Nah, Mitsu just doesn't have the greatest quality/reliability on their transmissions. Evos have the same problem.

I had 75K miles on my tranny... didn't Arithmetic just replace his tranny? He's not turbo. What Otter said, just go through the Evo forums, lots of guys having syncro problems there too.

Let's be honest here too, even though I don't beat my car, I don't baby it either. I didn't boost it for nothing!

+1.....Eclipses too.

TOB's on both my Eclipse and RA had to be replaced. So far no synchro issues (knock on wood), but I rev match like an Indy Car driver.

To the OP: No LSD failures I can recall....just don't get a viscous type as they wear out too fast. Clutch type....you don't want to go there. Gear type would be best, like the one RRM sells.
For clutch...listen to Retro.

With the after market clutches does it lengthen the throw of the clutch pedal?

Aftermarket clutches does not lengthen the clutch pedal as in physical force an aftermarket clutch depending on what you are using and what type it is will allow several things - it will grab and transfer the power much quicker to the wheels ( less slippage and much quicker for track use ) it can also allow you to slip the clutch for a longer period so that the power does not go down in a mass force causing the wheels to spin ( burnout, this is ideal for drag racing)

If you are going to replace the clutch you should also look at changing over the flywheel to a lighter one... this will make a much better performance upgrade as the flywheels are substantually lighter and stronger

None. Crawl under your dash and adjust your clutch pedal if you want it to engage further out.
