yeah, the maf sensor is a PITA. I am still trying to get it figured out for elimination. the fallback is interception so at least I will be able to tune fuel. if all else fails I will keep it for the features (with no maf hooked up at all it has four extra wires that are programmable outputs, in addition to the ~4 that it has to begin with) and ignition control and possibly move to an injector intercept method.

if/when you remember to ask him about the FIC ask him first if he has discovered a boost level the maf won't be able to read airflow at, and if he has figured out the MAF circuit at all. I can provide some insight on the latter if he thinks it's necessary for you to continue on your power quest we have seen 10psi already, so unless you ECU has lower limits you shouldn't have too much of a problem with that anyway. I don't think the FIC will be able to help you with the MAF if it starts to become a problem, but I have not read extensively on it in awhile. <-- this assumes you use the same MAF as we do.

DClipse, nice looking setup..I dont think you need to upgrade the pump with stock internals..Stock is usually good for 300whp. Maybe you just need a fuel pressure reg to get there or install the EVO9 pump for more pressure as the 550's at stock fp will maxout..just an aditional 10-15 psi in fuel will do the trick.
Welcome to the club and good luck..! You see you dont need alot of parts in order to run boosted..

Thanks, thunder rush. I'm hoping next year to go to where you are with power. I guess the 4G69 is good for 300 whp. What do you think?

the maf signal cant be replicated by the FIC. but for the fuelling dont worry about it since there is a map seensor internally built in. if you go beyond the maf limit, it doesnt matter since it's reading pressure and the pressure load cell can be tuned accordingly. it will probably throw a CEL, but it doesnt matter since it doesnt put the car in limp mode.. so i'd treat the CEL as a dummy light

it's always nice to see someone running some serious power for stock internals too many people just talk crap online on how this and that cant be done!

the CEL for the MAF is a dummy light? is this fact, or conjecture? that would be really nice to know

there is a map sensor built into the mapecu2 as well. it will also allow the use of various external map sensors.

have you figured out anything about the MAF circuit itself, or did you not try for long because the FIC does not need to change the MAF to modify fuel?

Exactly, you don't need to worry about the maf at all. The FIC takes care of everything.
