Another turbo build
So been away from the forums for some time, have had good sucess with runnin nitrous on the RA, a 100shot from a Nitrousoutlet.com Wet system along with intake, exhuast, drag radials and about 20 runs, dip'd her down into the 13's.
Well now I want the same power but all the time and its time to go boosted. At first just going to throw together a very cheap setup to get me goin and we'll see how it goes from there, already have a 14b turbo, SMIC, dsm 450's but from the little researching i've done so far you cant use those, so looks like evo 8 fuel rail with wrx injectors and a adjustable FPR, going to use a B-series turbo mani with the 4g69 flange, as for management need to research some more, only going to run like 5lbs until i get the whole setup line'd out on a dyno. So stay tuned should be interesting lol

sounds like you've done loads more research this time
if you are not concerned with obdii (it doesn't sound like it) spend the money and have a shop run a full standalone system. with your goals it's the best thing to do, given that there is no piggyback available that's 100% up to the challenge.

I seen another thread while i was researching posted of a RA that Oddball turbo & performance built that that is now turning out 420whp at 20psi according to them. They also say they have succesfully got the e-manage to work well with the RA. They are located about 3 and 1/2 hours from me so Im thinking of contacting them and see what they can do for me.
Mainly the reason for those parts is cheap and availability, I have a 91 talon tsi that im rebuilding so i have the stock parts from it. The 14b is small, but with our cars not having a high redline like a honda I rather have the quick spool. I mainly want to get it boosted at a very low level so I can concentrate on prob the most hardest part of boosting our cars, the engine management.
Once I find a good route to go and tuning the car is lined out, then I will go to a bigger setup with bigger numbers.... Crawl, walk, run kind of thing.

it doesn't take much work to get high numbers, but getting a good usable powerband... more thought has to go into the project. there is an old saying: HP wins dyno competitions, TQ wins races

...our cars can shure put the tq numbers when it comes to bein compared to other cars in its class. Ill be happy with anything over 200hp at 5 psi on the 14b, should be easy to attain right?
Also. I see that RRM now offers their piggyback with program software so that you can tune it yourself. Does it have enough tuning ablities to run a custom turbo setup reliably?

when u get the b series mani make sure u get the one were the waist is off the the side b/c if not you will have to switch to the civic radiator witch i would do anyways cause a alum radiator for those are cheep.... just a tip. and to run the evo rail with a return system you will need to get an ES lancer fuel pump assem then doit.
