i could lend you guys a set of 04 WRX injectors, or if you get some work on a map for those as an inexpensive alternative for those of us that won't need the headroom 550cc injectors will provide...my build should come together in late july when i have 2 weeks holidays, and i'll bring mine up on a trailer for a tune then...i wanna stick with the WRX injectors for my budget build...trying to keep it 2000$ or less excluding clutch, LSD etc.

hey guys im doing a custom sts turbo build have most of the parts going to start install soon im just stuck on the tuning part can we just dyno tune our cars ecu or do we need to get a stand alone or just what is needed to tune our cars. cause if i need a stand alone that will set this build back about 6 months or so. please help thanks guys.

ECU reflash my friend...Hackish is the man...i would not recommend a piggy back for a turbo setup...
And to clear everything up, the USDM WRX injectors (p/n 16611-AA521 or 195500-3920) fit into the intake manifold just fine, the harness connectors are plug and play the only thing you need is bigger spacers and bolts for mounting the fuel rail...but obviously the injectors' specification would need to be incorporated into the tune...
little bit a searching next time, and you'd find you answers, i only replied cause i had something to say abou the injectors...

On the larger spacers subject I have a test car locally I'm working with to machine smaller spacers so the WRX injectors are plug and play. I also have a set of modded WRX injectors that I may build a fuel map for as well. I'm not very keen on cutting off the nose because I feel that the loss in fuel economy will cost you 2x that of the proper injectors every year you run your car. Pay it forward.

Well Michael, i have collected everything you suggested in your first post.
I have:
AEM UEGO widband with LSU 4.2 sensor
Omni Power 3-Bar MAP sensor
440cc WRX injectors w/ WRX pump
And obviously the reflash
Just have a few more questions.
1. My turbo is internally gated at .6 BAR or ~9psi, i will be running a FMIC with a 24x6x2.5 core or something close to that, will the WRX injectors and pump be sufficient? or should i go bigger as a fail safe?
2. Does the O2 sensor need to be wired to the ECU at all, or do i just leave the 2 stock sensors where they are, and stick the wideband in the O2 housing and run it straight to the gauge?

I know your questions are old but here are some answers. 9psi of boost is OK but as soon as you hit 300whp or slightly under that you're going to be running out of MAF sensor. I've run into this a number of times on the Eclipse (same sensor and size housing). The answer is really a 3" MAF housing but placement is very critical as you need a certain length of straight pipe before and after the sensor.
With the O2 sensor issue you are safe to leave the stockers in there - probably the best option. The AEM WBO2 has a narrow band output but removing the factory O2 tends to get you into trouble with O2 sensor heater codes. I've put resistors on to stop it but it's dodgy with respect to how much current it needs to draw before throwing the O2 sensor heater code.
The stock pump on a RA seems to be competent up to at least 300hp. I've successfully run 275whp on a stock pump with no signs of losing fuel pressure.
For injector size, DSM 450cc injectors have been proven to 300whp on hondas for years. Little difference on the WRX injectors except that they're more tolerant near the limit. Personally, I'd just go with the RC 550cc so you won't be pulling your hair out when you run out of injector on the dyno.
For cheap you can get a modded set of WRX blue top injectors - 720cc +/- but live with the fact that through poor spray pattern you will spend the $$$ you saved 10x over in lost fuel economy.

lol, that question was really old...the main thing i was getting at for the wideband, is yes it has narrow band output as well, how would i log wideband data?
And i'll just weld a bung in my downpipe, i figured i could kill two birds with one stone, just by sending the narrowband output to the ECU. But if you say "nay", i'm not even going to bother...
As far as the waste gate goes, it's at 9psi...if i use the compressor outlet (j-pipe) as the boost source, or positive pressure source, rather than the intake manifold, will i see a huge pressure drop at the manifold? (24x6x2.5 FMIC)...cause i'm thinking, if i'm going to use the 440cc injectors, i could do with a little bit less boost, until i get my big 16g, and 550cc injectors...
