head bolts
head bolts
I have read many times about how the 4G69 can not take more than about 10PSI on stock head bolts now my question and i am sure this has been asked many times before is where do you find head bolts that can take 25 psi? I have a spare engine that I will be boring out about .60 soon and am planning on running about 25psi on bigger pistons and rods with a slightly smaller compression ratio but i need to find head bolts that can take it since the stock ones will not. any places come to mind for anyone where i can get something that will satisfy me?
well anything for an evo 8 will fit , arp has a nice selection. But I wouldn't bore out that much the walls between the piston are pretty thin already, if you bore them out that much the risk of cracking the wall grows significantly. The most I would recommend is .20 overbore.

well i was only going to go .30 but the lovely mechanic that installed the turbo forgot to change the timing belt and a cylinder gernaded so i have to take it out untill its smooth again then sleeve back in to maintain strength. guess i will cross that bridge when i get there. the evo 8 is the 4G63?
ARP 4G63 11mm head studs work with our block.
ARP part# is 207-4203
All 7-bolt 4G63 are the same if i'm not mistaken, even 2g talon/eclipse use 11mm studs.
