Just bought a 2004 lacer raliart (automatic) and i was wondering how can i make it faster with the budget of 2k. lots of people use hondas in the racing scene in the near by cities i just dont want to get smoked.
any ideas?

 

you will always get smoked, unless your budget is $50,000, in which case you could buy a much better and faster car...and even then, you'll still get smoked the odd time...


not wanting to get smoked isn't very specific, because you will inevitably lose races...do you have a goal in mind? and if speed is what you want, why'd you get an auto? (before I get flamed, manuals are easy and cheaper to repair, and make to hold the power and trust me, when you start putting real power through them, they don't like it)

 

Could you be more specific? What are you doing with the car? Is it a daily, a project car? Are you drag racing, autocrossing, road course racing, rallycross racing? And cranswick is right if you wanted a fast car you should have gotten a manual. You'll get flamed more than anything for using an auto. Trust me Ive driven my auto RA for several years now. I get dogged all the time because its auto, then I get people who wont even give it a second look once they find out its auto. Until I take them for a ride in it that is...
