Wtf?

I was just reading one of the new car mags with a comparo between the x and the 128I. They should be pretty evenly matched with the 128I "supposedly" having 300hp and the evo 291. You would think the evo would at least be faster to 30 and maybe to 60 before the bmw passes it, but not so. The beamer is faster from a dead stop all the way to top end. I thought the awd cars were always faster than the rwd from a dig. Either the bmw is way underrated, the evo is overrated or it has something to do with the transmission, gearing or weight. I understand the evo is a couple hundred pounds heavier too. I guess a twin-turbo 6 should be faster than a single-turbo four...
In the evo's favor, it was faster around a road course and kept widening the distance the farther they went.

So what is the complaint here? Both cars performed as expected. The Evo X is more true to its form, its track car. Evo engineers don't give a damn about 1/4 mile times. Lap times is all that matters to them. The beamer, you said it yourself, six cylinder twin turbo. Since when do you see a slow six cylinder twin turbo. That beamer was also mated to a regular automatic transmission.

Okay first of all I can't even understand the OP, and second of all why the sweet hell do we care about strait line performance from the evo? The car was never designed for it, it's built for the track while the BMW is made for high speed stability on the autobahn.
