Damn! I wonder if they can split it up into a couple different kits. Do all the supporting mods for 1/2 the price; then later, get the turbo and the rest of it for the other 1/2, or something like that. That's alot for me to drop all at once.
Ah, well, I have 94,600 more miles before my powertrain warranty expires. I better start saving now.

Hmm.. at $1 every 25 miles...

sorry i guess i hit the wrong button but you should try going to a pick a part or junk yard because im sure you could find an evo turbo manifold on a wreck. There are plenty of smashed up evo as well as other cars from people who could drive their way out of a paper bag. Not saying the veo is crap and would be found in a junkyard, just alot of dumb drivers
evo manifold won't fit the Ralliart... if you go custom i'd see costs adding up to around 2k unless you got some bro deals... then you need to add in the costs of getting your pipes powder coated or ceramic coated. Unless your a cheap *** and just want to spray paint them {thumbdn} Also you have to tune the car to run correctly. With dyno time and the management system you could be looking at about 1k to 1.5k and that should be about close. Thus i'd say a custom totally done right package would run you at least 3-3.5k and all the aggrivation and frustrations that go along with developing the kit. That is why people go with kits is to avoid that.
Often people find their custom setup doesn't perform as well as the RRM setup since they take time to fit the right turbo... right tune... right parts... etc.
Just be careful if going custom and do some searching as there is a lot of info on the boards.

4K is a lot... but when it's all said and done you have a product that you have little to no worries on as it's a kit backed by RRM. They've had a great record and have proven their support time and time again.
But doing a custom job gives you a satisfaction only a custom job could get... it means a lot to be able to tell someone you made your setup. Not many can... but everyone who can can also tell the nightmare tales of many trials/errors. They may not have hurt the motor but they came close or just thought they did. It happens to everyone that goes custom... it's a high stress situation.

boeturbolancer is right, too many headaches with custom jobs. It's always easier to blame other people when stuff breaks, that's why from now on I'll stick to buying products that are tested and true. When I first put my turbo on my RA I blew a 10 inch hole in an intake hose that couldn't handle positive pressure, it sounded like I blew a piston through the block.............. I almost $h!t my pants!!! if you think racing is an adrenaline rush, think again!
while I would LOVE to do a custom turbo on a car some day, i cant do it to my daily driver. If i mess up, my a$$ is in the pike seat! I will pay a bit extra for someone else to get me started.
