ACT clutch for Ralliart.
Well, I asked Richard about the Ralliart and what he found out. He had a customer who ordered the wrong part (bought an EVO clutch) tell him that the pressure plate could not be removed which is what is typical of a modular clutch. We also found out that the flywheel bolts together from the back, which also lead him to believe that the setup is modular. I contacted Mike at Road Race Engineering and he was very helpful as usual (yes I am plugging his business). It turns out that the flywheel is bolted from the back, not because it is modular but basically because it is a two piece flywheel. It's not modular though because the pressure plate bolts up conventionally. Sorry for the confusion. Richard was misled. Although it is definitely a different clutch from the earlier Lancer and from other clutches we currently make. I will continue to look into it to see if we can come up with something.
If you think it's a conspiracy, you are right. We are conspiring to sell you a product that will suit your needs. Oh the shame of it all.

Thanks Dirk for the update. I'm glad we are all on the same page now. We all look forward to seeing an ACT clutch for our cars. By the way, were you at the ACT booth at NOPI nationals in Dallas, TX a while back? If not, I just want to say that those guys were so helpful and eager to help with all the questions I had for them. I was inquiring about a different car at the time. I learned a lot in the few minutes I talked with them. Good people.

I just got off the phone with one of my friends at daiken. He has called around and e-mailed a few people on clutchs for the ralliart. He supposed to call me on the next few days about possible production on one. Daiken however should have in released well before ACT does.

All the act clutch is s really a marked up Daiken Clutch plate with some other brands painted pressure plate? well if your getting a daiken clutch why the hell not just buy daiken and save the money? Im not positive on who they use for the ceramic plates but Im guess thats daiken as well. I sell act over daiken all day long at my work and people just don't understand. I charge more for ACT and make less?
Thats probably the main reason ACT hasn't made one because that can't buy the disc from daiken yet. The odd part is ACT has clutchs daiken does not offer and they are still using the Daiken disc. don't understand that much.
So if you really want a clutch call the source daiken bother them and save yourself some money.

Don't take offense, but to say you are not trying to talk **** or bash anyone and then tell people that ACT is "piles of crap" is a contradiction, don't you think? Don't worry, It doesn't upset me off or anything. It just discouraging. All I ask is that you don't pass judgment on something you don't know about. I wish I could give you a tour of our shop or something. I think you wouldfind our operation is pretty cool.

act = pile of crap
act = daiken
therefor, u must be saying
daiken = pile of crap
=) i dont get it. 2 parts in getting a product: prototyping and production. maybe daiken does some production and act does their prototyping? not sure, but no need to be so harsh. if both products come out, great. if neither do, so be it. let the market do its thing.
as i said before, their are not many high-power ralliarts so there isnt a big need for upgraded clutches. dont expect the market to be filled with them without a good demand. yes, some people need replacemetns and RRM and Works both offer them. some additional faces in the competition market would be nice, but no need to start a blind flame war over
